Pick My Bridesmaids’ Dresses! Your Vote Really Counts! April 26, 2009

Here’s the deal. Each of my bridesmaids has designed a dress or two or three on StyleShake.com. I picked my favorite of each of theirs, and now YOU get to vote on which one you like the best. The contest will conclude at 12 noon (Central time) on Sunday, May 3, 2009, at which time the dress design that has the most votes recorded will be what ALL of my bridesmaids will wear. Please be honest in your voting. I’ll post the winner on Monday May 4th!

Auggy’s Classic Pencil Skirt has won the bridesmaid dress design contest!! Good job, ladies. All of your dresses were beautiful and so YOU!

I love bringing some democracy to the wedding party attire! What a great way to use the multiple opinions and get some buy-in! They are all adorable, so whatever style wins will be great.

Hill- I loved all the dresses! It was so hard to decide. I liked them all! Have fun with this!!!!
Say, would you like me to help you address you invites?? I’d be happy to do it for you. Let me know.
    Love,
    Mom

Ok, just because I’d hate to be caught in a bad gown– would one dress be more universally flattering than another? LOVE the pencil skirt, but the Empire waist is easier to wear. I love the flounce Mak’s dress, but would hate it if I had much of a chest.

    Was that non-decisive enough?

Remembering the diverse sizes/shapes of my bridesmaids, my question is: could you give us an idea of the body types involved, so we can pic the most flattering? I’d almost default to the empire waist not knowing about the girls, but I like some of the other dresses better. Congrats!

Thanks for the insight and comments. My bridesmaids are seriously all different shapes and sizes. My matron of honor has the, um, greatest cleavage you have ever seen and is definitely not shy about it. ;) We are all real women and have feminine curves. Honestly, no one looks the same or even that similar! So you can make your choice with that bit of info.

      Does that help?

Ok – so what would you think about maybe having a couple of dresses – these are SO cute!!! What a great job these gals did at designing and why not let them wear what they feel great in? Maybe not all of them – but pick the 2 favs?? WOW – I mean they are really cute and what a hip look it would be!!! Good luck – and way to go in letting your girls be a part of your day! What a great friend you must be – you rock!! Congrats on your big day! Oh crud – I guess I must go and pick a dress now – oh how can I……………

I have been to some weddings recently where each bride’s maid picks her own dress, so each one is wearing the one that best fits their personality and their body comfort. Very boring when they all look alike!
